OPTION 1. EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY TEST

The gold standard test in establishing limiting factors and how your body functions best. At Human performance Ireland we measure every fitness metric, VO2 uptake and VCO2 production, fat and carbohydrate efficiency, cellular health, cardiac heart function and identify performance limitations. This exercise physiology test goes far beyond a standard RMR or VO2max test.

OPTION 2. ENDURANCE FUELING EFFICIENCY TEST

This is a vital metabolic test for anyone competing in endurance events - ½ Marathon and upwards to Ironman, Ultra cycling, running & adventure sports. This is NOT a VO2 test, instead it starts very gently and progressively steps in intensity to around 80% of maximum. Using the breath-by-breath technology at Human Performance Ireland we will show you precisely what your calorie requirement is per hour from zone 1-4 intensity, heart rate, pace or watts. These results will avoid nutritional fall off and fatigue maximising your results.

SM02 MUSCLE TESTING

We are proud to provide the world’s most accurate Oxygen & Haemoglobin (SmO2 & THB) non invasive testing diagnostic. We measure the muscles ability to use oxygen at source. During exercise we can establish your progression through to the onset of blood lactate accumulation in real time along with so much more data than an invasive blood swab. Adding muscle oxygen monitoring to our testing protocol adds a physiological dimension that simply cannot be addressed by any other method. It is critical for deciding exercise intensity for training and racing in endurance sports (e.g., long distance running, cycling, rowing, long distance swimming and cross country skiing), but varies between individuals and can be increased with training.

CLINICAL GRADE ACCURACY

With clinical grade accuracy at Human performance Ireland along with 12 other biomarkers we scan the most important physiological systems in your body when exposed to high levels of exercise.

We examine in detail your Pulmonary Function, oxygen uptake (VO2), carbon dioxide production (VCO2), and ventilation (VE – total air volume exchanged with the environment) identifying respiratory limitations or disease.  We examine in detail your cardiopulmonary response of energy consumption i.e. how many calories, fats and carbohydrates you’re burning.
We examine in detail your cardiac Function – identifying cardiovascular limitations or disease.

We examine in detail your (SmO2) Muscle Oxygen Saturation  and test the percentage of haemoglobin that is carrying oxygen in your muscle tissue. We examine and profile individually the balance between oxygen delivery and oxygen consumption in the muscles as intensity increases. Our approach at Human Performance Ireland goes much further than your standard Vo2 test.
